Of the Father's Love Begotten
(It occurred to me to juxtapose Biblical phrases with phrases from the Christmas carol above.)Let the heights of heaven adore him
wrapped in swaddling clothes
angel hosts, his praises sing;
laid in a manger
powers, dominions bow before him
displaced to Egypt
and extol our God and king.
submitted to Joseph and Mary
Let no tongue on earth be silent
spoke no word of defense
every voice in concert ring
"Crucify him!"
evermore and evermore.
Hallelujah, for the Lord God Almighty reigns!
