Do you see that?

I asked N. how he was feeling during his first full day in Durham - and 8 time zones different from where he and his family had embarked on their journey to the USA.  He indicated he that wasn't seeing clearly, probably due to mixed up sleep patterns.

But within 400 yards of his choice of food his face lit up as he recognized

Peter, James and John were not seeing clearly either; they were "very sleepy" after hiking a bit with Jesus.  However, when they "became fully awake they saw his [Jesus'] glory"!  The narrator records that Jesus' appearance was transfigured as he discussed with two others - Moses and Elijah!

Astounding!

I can only imagine - and woefully inadequately, I'm certain - what glory looks like; it must have been bright.  Unlike trying to look at an eclipse without protecting the eyes (and experiencing the real possibility of permanent visual damage), these three saw glory and remained fully capable of seeing, with their eyesight unharmed.  They saw only Jesus and heard a voice of authority advise them, "This one is my chosen, precious one; listen to him!"

And I pray that N., as well as others like him, shall soon be enabled to see, feed on and follow after the living Lord Jesus Christ.
