Life manages to stay busy on SE Fairway Circle. Even with four adults it takes most of our combined energy and wit to keep up with the four little ones. They are fun, despite evidence of two of them being 3 1/2 and nearly 2 years - and you know what that can mean sometimes.
Matt reserved two yurts, each 18' in diameter, at the Whidbey Island NAS camp area. Whidbey, you recall, was his first assigment about twelve years ago! We spent three nights July 4-6 and back to P.O. on 7th. Though fireworks were not allowed on the NAS, we could hear nearby celebrations. And, of course, the occasional take-offs and landings by various fighter jets and transport planes more than compensated for the lack of sparklers.
The days were bright, often quite breezy, and the evenings chilly. We two slept under a heavy wool blanket, for example. We enjoyed time on the nearby stony beach, strewn with driftwood of all shapes and lengths. One treat was to glimpse bald head eagles up close. They are quite common as it turns out, but for us "city folk" they were special viewings.

Who is the little curly-haired cutie in the top photo? My goodness.
Great shots, Dad. Wish we could be there digging in the sand, too.
Next up: pics of Adella.
Oh and a trip to get Mom's favorite french fries, right?
Curly one is Daniel - very photogenic.
