"Visitor" in the nearby trees

This Barred Owl had been hanging out further down the block.  In recent weeks, however, it has been attracting our daily attention by landing either in a tree just above us or in a nearby tree.

Hunts by night or day, perhaps most at dawn and dusk. Seeks prey by watching from perch, also by flying low through forest; may hover before dropping to clutch prey in talons.  Source
