That time of year

Right on schedule the Christmas cactus is blooming in time for... Thanksgiving!  Remember?  It is an annual occurrence.  And we depart for MD tomorrow so may very well be missing the height of its flowering in the next week.

 

Your mom has been in a flurry of activity preparing for this trip - food to share with the La Plata Hawkins crew, small Christmas bag for them to take to Waco, deciding what clothes to pack for this wintry week away, and adding a couple of simple items to gift the Posadas-Nava children.  Yes, we plan to visit with them next Saturday, after which we hope to drive to Gettysburg for a couple of nights with (uncle) Andy & (aunt) Mary.  Back on Monday?
