Seeking treasure

After adding a coat of primer in the downstairs bathroom where needed and finding myself having to stay close to 1406 while Window World service person installed a new window in the upstairs bathroom, I looked for something else to occupy myself.

The closet adjoining the two front rooms!

Intending to merely (Never say "just" or "merely" and 1406 in the same paragraph.) apply caulk or spackling in a few place, I found that trying to paint over the present wallpaper was not a good idea.  Actually, it is never a good idea.  Since the wallpaper seemed very easy to remove, I got to it.  The more I peeled the more a second and maybe third layer beneath became apparent.  For some odd reason this intrigued me; it even provoked my curiosity: What treasure might I find "buried" beneath decades of wallpaper?

Apart from a faded, flowery pattern... I discovered no treasures.  Unless one counts the 1995 penny on the floor, there was nothing except the satisfaction of having peeled all away in the remaining hours of the afternoon.  No, we won't let the old wallpaper become the new decor of an old closet.  Should tomorrow allow space in the schedule, the worker man will return to redecorating a treasure-less closet.

Wow Dad, impressive! Hopefully that was a very satisfying afternoon for you (b/c sometimes old wallpaper can be very stubborn...but it looks like it peeled off okay). Funny how the pictures make the closet look bigger than it is. That bodes well for selling the house, right?!
